1. What are some of the previous research projects you have done?
The Youth Leg. bill required some research, and my first speech in class. In Soc. Studies, our presidental candidate assignment reqired research.
2. Based on these projects, what does research mean to you?
Research means getting to know your topic more. By understanding your topic, you can increase performance on projects
3. Describe one of your research successes or failures. Why was the experience positive or negative?
My first speech was a big success. By practicing daily and familiarizing myself with my speech, my performance exceeded my expectations.

2 - Reflection on Webbing Process April 7
1. I think the webbing process helped/did not help me find a topic because:
I skimmed and skammed many topics and started to see progress in a few of them. I'm trying for success in all my topics.

3 - Why I Chose This Topic and What I Know About My Topic
. Topic: Countries that practice Islam
2. Why you chose it: Recently, a unit on Islam was done. I saw the origin of the religion and want to find out more about it.
3. What you already know about your topic: Islam is the second largest world religion, and the founder was Muhhamud.

1. Brainstorm a list of questions related to your topic.
Topic is influence of Islam in the Countries of the world
  • Why is Islam a major world religion(Fat question)
  • Which countries practice Islam
  • Beliefs of Islamic religion
  • Origin of Islam

5 - Reflections on Pre-Notetaking - for homework (due Wednesday, April 9)
1. Describe how the pre-notetaking sheet helped you find both focus for your topic and research questions to investigate. Did you find it easy or difficult to create a fat question from your ideas?
On the above entry, I mentioned my central questions. I had a lot more, but narrowed it down to these. Thinking of questions for my topic was easy. Islam is broad so there were so many possibilities of questions to ask. Creating a fat question was also fairly easy.

1. What have I learned today?
I learned that Islam is the second biggest Religion, and the middle east houses most muslims.

I currently have had no problems

I will continue my research and learn more of my topic. I shall make notecards and bibliographies and keep going.

1. What have I learned today?
I learned that the Quaran is only half of Muslim Law, the other is the sunna. Islam is much more strict than Christianity

Still, I currently haven't had any problems

I shall continue researching Islam while meeting all of my requirements
